It is with a great amount of humble gratitude to one of my astro-friends that I can proudly display an extremely rare pre-war Zeiss 30mm eyepiece. A well-worn body, showing the years of service, with like new optics – this specimen is truly a gem. A past owner was the “Cavaliere della Repubblica” Domenico Gellera a famous skilled old astronomy lover, and, VP of A.R.A.S Brera. I will be a great and careful stewart of this piece and let me assure you, it will be used – a lot-lol! I can’t wait to get first light with this in my Zeiss 110mm f/16 refractor, as well as my other mid and long focal scopes.
I guess this ep can be called by its nickname from the catalogue displayed – “Engessar” or in the English catalogue “Ascitibus” – either one a superhero name if there ever was one!

Below is picture of my 25mm pre-war Zeiss monocentric. This photo was not taken by me but it is now my eyepiece. Absolutely crystalline views of the moon with this eyepiece- these ep’s have no coatings, so no ghosting. Just stark wonderviews!
